ii.  Matt Dunlop’s name was provided by Blair as the new Asst. Tiger Den Leader—THANKS MATT!

b.  Leader Training:  Kurt to schedule a convenient time for all new leaders to receive training once adult leader recruiting is complete (after School Night).  Item for discussion at the Sep Leader Meeting—4 Sept 2007.

i.  Present Committee members approved by majority purchase of materials for Popcorn Sales material packaging.

ii.  Present Committee members approved by majority purchase of updated Packmaster software.

iii.  Present Committee members approved by majority purchase of Boys Life for all pack families.

d.  Membership

i.  A recruiting table was manned at the West Point Community Fair—a list of those requesting additional information was distributed electronically by the Cub Master.

ii.  Pack 23 Pack Meeting and School night scheduled from 1800-1900 on 24 August at WPES Cafeteria.

iii.  Present Committee members approved by majority Annual Pack Dues at $55 per Cub Scout for the year.  $11.20 per scout goes to council and $43.80 remains with the pack.  Pack funds to provide one Boy’s Life subscription to every scout family.  The $55 registration provides the awards and advancement supplies and camping expenses associated with each scout, and indirectly provides Boys’ Life per 2.c.iii.  Pack will pay the $1 transfer fee for all scouts transferring to our Pack, so that everyone signing up pays just $55!  In the past there have been no den dues—den activities have been pay for by the pack (a specified amount per cub has been allotted based on pack dues and popcorn sales).

e.  Summer activities:  Summer activities were:

  •  Pack 23 Spring Campout—June 2007

  • Bear Mountain Zoo visit—July 2007

  • West Point Bike Rodeo—August 2007 (Attendance at the 24 August Pack Meeting will also count towards the summer award if the Bike Rodeo was not attended).

Den leaders to summit names of all boys who earned the summer pin (attendance at all 3 summer events) to the Cub Master after the Pack Meeting on 24 August).

ii.  Proposed Pack Trips:  The price for the Night at the Museum was advertised as $109/person and was determined to be too high.  Last year’s trip to the Norwalk Aquarium was only $54.50/person and was more acceptable.  Other venues were discussed.

iii.  Den Leaders need to provide standardized den meeting times and locations to Cub Master so we can coordinate with the Boy Scout Troop 23 for Den Chiefs.  This is a win-win arrangement in that Den Leaders have an “extra helper” at den meetings and the Scout gets credit for community service and an opportunity to develop his leadership skills.

b.  Elizabeth to schedule Camp Bullowa
