1. The following pack

2. Discussion Points :
a.
Leaders for 2007-2008 Cub Scouting
Year :
i.
Blair Williams volunteered to be the new Tiger Den Leader—THANKS
BLAIR !
ii.
Matt Dunlop’s name was provided by Blair as the new Asst. Tiger Den
Leader—THANKS MATT!
b. Leader Training:
Kurt to schedule a convenient time for all new leaders to receive
training once adult leader recruiting is complete (after School Night).
Item for discussion at the Sep Leader Meeting—4 Sept 2007.

Budget/Purchases :
i.
Present Committee members approved by majority purchase of materials
for Popcorn Sales material packaging.
ii.
Present Committee members approved by majority purchase of updated
Packmaster software.
iii.
Present Committee members approved by majority purchase of Boys
Life for all pack families.
d. Membership
i.
A recruiting table was manned at the West Point Community Fair—a list
of those requesting additional information was distributed electronically by
the Cub Master.
ii.
Pack 23 Pack Meeting and School night scheduled from 1800-1900 on 24
August at WPES Cafeteria.
iii.
Present Committee members approved by majority Annual Pack Dues at
$55 per Cub Scout for the year. $11.20 per scout goes to
council and $43.80 remains with the pack. Pack funds to
provide one Boy’s Life subscription to every scout family. The
$55 registration provides the awards and advancement supplies and camping
expenses associated with each scout, and indirectly provides Boys’ Life per
2.c.iii. Pack will pay the $1 transfer fee for all scouts
transferring to our Pack, so that everyone signing up pays just $55!
In the past there have been no den dues—den activities have been pay
for by the pack (a specified amount per cub has been allotted based on pack
dues and popcorn sales).
e. Summer activities:
Summer activities were:

Bear Mountain Zoo visit—July 2007

West Point Bike Rodeo—August 2007
(Attendance at the 24 August Pack Meeting will also count towards the
summer award if the Bike Rodeo was not attended).
Den leaders
to summit names of all boys who earned the summer pin (attendance at all 3
summer events) to the Cub Master after the Pack Meeting on 24 August).
f. Calendar

. School Night will be
1800-1900 on 24 August at the WPES Cafeteria and will consist of a Pack
Meeting.

Fall Campout at
Camp Bullowa 21-22 Sept (conflicts with West Point Yard Sale so
dates may change). DATES
CHANGED TO 14-15 SEP ’07 SUBSEQUENT TO MEETING

Committee leaning towards Space Derby in
lieu of Raingutter on Friday, 12 October (Corps Training Holiday—Plebe
Parent Week).
Kurt, Grant, Elizabeth, and Charlie planning
to attend the Heritage District Kick Off—Saturday, 18 Aug at Black Rock Game
Preserve (1600-1900; $6/person for dinner). RSVP before

Popcorn: Committee decided to provide Show and
Deliver at PX and Army football game. Those items not
sold will roll into Take Order.

i.
Positions in which we could use help are (first two listed are must
haves to maintain two deep leadership/the subsequent 4 are for special
events and are highly desired):

ii. Proposed Pack Trips: The price for the
Night at the Museum was advertised as $109/person and was determined to be too
high. Last year’s trip to the Norwalk Aquarium was only
$54.50/person and was more acceptable. Other venues were
discussed.
iii. Den Leaders need to provide standardized den meeting
times and locations to Cub Master so we can coordinate with the Boy Scout Troop
23 for Den Chiefs. This is a win-win arrangement in that Den
Leaders have an “extra helper” at den meetings and the Scout gets credit for
community service and an opportunity to develop his leadership skills.

Grant and Kurt to check what’s required from Garrison and Directorate of
Cadet Activities (DCA) perspective to do Popcorn Show and Deliver at PX and Army
football game.

Cindy to develop a Popcorn package for Show and Deliver based on last
year’s sales.
e.
Elizabeth to order Packmaster software.
f.
Grant to publish current Scout Hut schedule.
